TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS

Make sure you are using OS 2.2.1 or higher. For the best performance upgrade your device to the latest OS offered through iTunes.
Make sure your device is not set to vibrate.

1st generation touch users. Pocket Girlfriend will not record audio because a microphone cannot be used.
2nd generation touch users. Pocket Girlfriend will not record audio without a microphone. If you find that Pocket Girlfriend isn’t recording your audio it’s because you need to plug in earphones which include a microphone. These are sold separately.

Ghost Photo

Description

Ghost Photo is a fun practical joke for iPhone and iPod Touch owners. Choose any photo from your photo library, press Start, and ask a friend to check out the photo. Watch them jump when a ghost suddenly appears on the screen a few seconds later. Crank up the volume for maximum effect.

For a more nuanced version of this joke, activate the Extra Delay option which causes the ghost to appear after 35 seconds. Then tell a friend that a ghost was captured in the picture and ask if they can see it. When setting up the joke, be sure to

1. Tell your friend that the ghost only shows up if they remain focused and still.
2. Tell them to be patient, as it can take up to a minute for their eyes to adjust.
3. Let them hold your iPhone or iPod Touch after you've finished the setup.

The 35 second delay assumes about 15 seconds of set up and 20 seconds of your friend staring at the photo. They will jump out of their skin when the ghost finally does appear.

Looking for a joke to play on your friendly neighbourhood geek? Fake Linux is a parody app that lets you pretend you've installed the GNU/Linux operating system on your iPhone - messages fly by as it boots up, it attempts to start an X server (and fails, as Linux sometimes likes doing) then drops you into a command prompt where you can run a wide number of fake commands by typing on the keyboard.

Please note: Fake Linux *is not really Linux*; don't get over-excited! It's just a parody that simulates part of the Linux environment with all its quirks. Long-time Linux users will get a kick out of trying to run Emacs and getting an out of memory error, or seeing the dreaded message "Failed to start X server" in ncurses.
